In the most beautiful days of March, when spring flowers bloom, the Business School's division organized a special event to celebrate the 114th International Women's Day, showcasing the wisdom and creativity of women. At the same time, the event aimed to promote the traditional Wuxi Huishan clay sculpture culture through a unique hands-on activity called "Goddess Celebration and Creative Clay Sculpture." A total of 35 female faculty members actively participated in this heartwarming and lively festival, experiencing the charm of traditional culture.
On the afternoon of March 8th, female faculty members from the School of Business gathered at the Chinese Clay Figure Museum in Huishan Ancient Town, Wuxi. Guided by the museum staff, they explored the history of Chinese clay sculpture development and various regional clay sculpture cultures, gaining a deeper understanding of the history, cultural background, and unique craftsmanship of Huishan clay sculpture. Huishan clay sculpture, a traditional cultural treasure of Wuxi, captivated the attention of the female faculty with its delicate shapes, vibrant colors, and rich content.
Then under the guidance of professional teachers, the female faculty members personally experienced the process of clay sculpture. From kneading the clay to shaping and completing the final product, each step was challenging and enjoyable. The women unleashed their creativity and imagination, producing lifelike clay sculptures.
After completing their clay sculptures, the female faculty members showcased their works and shared their experiences and feelings during the creative process. This event not only allowed them to appreciate the charm of traditional handicrafts but also fostered emotional exchanges and strengthened friendships, enhancing team cohesion. In a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, the female faculty members collectively celebrated a memorable and meaningful International Women's Day.
Looking ahead, the division of our School at Jiangnan University will continue organizing creative and culturally rich activities, injecting new vitality into the cultural development of the institute. The goal is to ensure that every faculty member feels warmth and care within the School's community, collectively contributing to the creation of a more exciting chapter for the institution.
