Academic Research and Guidance Visit by the Academic Affairs Office at Jiangnan University to the School of Business for the Revision of Undergraduate Talent Cultivation

On the afternoon of February 28th, a delegation consisting of Professor Li Zhaofeng, the Director of the Academic Affairs Office at Jiangnan University, Professor Huang Fenglin, the Deputy Director, and the heads of relevant department, visited the School to conduct research and provide guidance on the revision of the undergraduate talent cultivation for the 2024 academic year. Professor Pu Xujin, the Dean of the School, extended a warm welcome to the Academic Affairs Office leadership and colleagues visiting the school. The research meeting took place in Room 308 of the Business School, with Professor Liu Yong, the Vice Dean, various department heads, and the Dean's assistant, Mr. Shi Zhenkai, participating in the round-table discussion.

During the meeting, Vice Dean Liu Yong first presented an overview of the current status of undergraduate talent cultivation at the School and provided updates on the revision work. Director Li Zhaofeng offered constructive suggestions regarding the relevant work. The six department heads of the School presented detailed reports on the progress of disciplinary development, characteristics of talent cultivation, module design for teaching, research findings, identified issues, and the ongoing revision of the cultivation program. Special attention was given to addressing doubts and difficulties encountered during the revision process, engaging in in-depth discussions with Academic Affairs Office representatives. In conclusion, Director Li Zhaofeng reiterated the importance of the revision of the undergraduate talent cultivation program, offering valuable insights and recommendations on innovation measures, communication and coordination, enhancement of student capabilities, and the establishment of microspecialties.

This research and guidance visit laid a solid foundation for the revision of the undergraduate talent cultivation at the School, aiming to enhance practical skills and promote high-quality employment and further education for undergraduate students. It also clarified the direction for the revision of the 2024 undergraduate talent cultivation. The School places great importance on this revision work, intending to systematically summarize the outcomes of this research and, based on the actual situation of each major, optimize the overall design of the cultivation program. This will be carried out in earnest consideration of national strategies, industry demands, and local talent requirements, effectively ensuring the successful revision of undergraduate talent cultivation programs across various majors within the school.
