Warm Congratulations to Professor Long Ruyin from the School of Business for Being Aelected as One of the "2023 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers"

On March 27th, Elsevier released the highly anticipated list for 2023. A total of 5,801 individuals were included on the list, representing 496 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, covering 10 disciplines and 84 primary disciplines recognized by the Ministry of Education.

Among the selected individuals, Jiangnan University boasted 24 scholars on the list. Professor Long Ruyin from the School of Business was recognized as a highly cited scholar in the field of Management Science and Engineering, marking his third consecutive appearance on the "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list since 2021.

The selection process for the 2023 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list utilized the globally authoritative citation and indexing database Scopus as the source of data on Chinese scholars' research achievements, employing a method developed by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. The list employs multiple indicators to showcase scholars' influence in academic or research fields, aiming to systematically demonstrate the distribution of talent in the Chinese research field while accurately presenting the composition of advantageous disciplines in institutions and universities, as well as academic influence, and top talents in key technological research and various priority areas.

Professor Long Ruyin, a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor at Jiangnan University, has long focused on important national strategic areas such as "ecological civilization" and "green development." He has conducted a series of forward-looking studies on topics such as green consumption behavior, low-carbon energy-saving behavior, and environmental decision-making in China, innovating and expanding the theoretical and methodological systems related to consumer-side green and low-carbon behavior research. Professor Long Ruyin serves as the chief expert for major tender projects of the National Social Science Fund. In recent years, he has led nearly 20 national, provincial, and ministerial-level projects including major and key projects of the National Social Science Fund and projects of the National Natural Science Foundation. He has been selected for the global list of top 2% scientists in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, and has published over 200 papers in international and domestic leading journals, as well as authored or co-authored 8 monographs and textbooks. He has received over 20 research awards, including the Ministry of Education's Eighth Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award (Humanities and Social Sciences), Jiangsu Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award, Jiangsu Provincial University Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award, Jiangsu Provincial Productivity Theory and Practice Outstanding Achievement Award, and Jiangsu Provincial Social Science Application Research Boutique Project Award.

The "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list is compiled by Elsevier using the globally leading peer-reviewed abstract citation database Scopus as the data source for Chinese scholars' research achievements. The database only counts research achievements published as first authors or corresponding authors, selecting the most globally influential Chinese scholars in various disciplines. Being included on the "Highly Cited Researchers" list means that the scholar's total citations as a first author or corresponding author are at the top level among all Chinese (mainland China) researchers in the field, indicating world-class influence in their research field and outstanding contributions to its development.
