It has first-level disciplines that can award Master's degrees, including five second-level disciplines such as the principles of education. It has the national-level education base of humanities quality for undergraduates, a national training base of the Ministry of Education for primary and secondary school teachers, and a Jiangsu teacher training and research base. It admits domestic master students, international students and undergraduates.

It awards master's degrees in a first-level discipline, covering three sub-disciplines: music creation and teaching, music performance and teaching, and dance performance and teaching. It admits graduate students and undergraduate students who is going to major music and dance. It put forth efforts to cultivate high-level performance and creative talents in education, research, and publicity.
