Cai Huaxiang（蔡华祥）, male, Yancheng, Jiangsu, born in 1981. A professor in the Department of Chinese at Jiangnan University, a subject leader in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, and a supervisor of master's degree students. Studied in the Department of Chinese at Soochow University in 2008 under the supervision of Professor Wang Ping（汪平）, and entered the Postdoctoral Station of the Department of Chinese at Nanjing University in 2016 under the supervision of Professor Gu Qian（顾黔）.

Engaged in the investigation and research of Chinese dialects for more than 20 years, including Wu, Hui, Gan, Jin dialects, and Jiang-huai mandarin. Have presided over more than 30 projects and participated in major national projects such as the Chinese Language Protection Project, Linguistic Atlas of Chinese Dialects、Encyclopedic Dictionary of Chinese Dialectology etc. Has published works such as Map of the Rugao dialect、Wujiang Dialect Journal、A Study of the Yancheng Dialect、Compilation of Language Resources in Jiangsu (Nantong and Yancheng volumes) etc. Has published 31 papers in Chinese and foreign journals such as Studies of the Chinese Language、Dialect、Chinese Linguistics、The Collected Works of Chinese Language and Literature [Korea], etc. In 2017, been selected as one of the outstanding young backbone teachers of the "Qing Lan Project" of Colleges and universities in Jiangsu; the executive director of the Linguistic Society of Jiangsu Province, a part-time researcher of the Institute of Dialect and Culture of Nanjing University, an expert in the appraisal of the results of the project completed by the National Social Science Foundation, and an expert in Chinese language education in Jiangsu Province, a reviewer for Macrolinguistics of Nanjing University.
