Personal Introduction:

Ethan Lee, Associate Professor of Music at Jiangnan University, China's pioneering countertenor, holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and is a dynamic figure in the realms of vocal performance and collaborative piano. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where he continued to make significant contributions after completing his doctoral studies. Dr. Lee served as a lecturer in the vocal department and as an assistant in the choral department at the University of Illinois School of Music. Additionally, he shared his expertise as a guest professor at several prestigious American universities. As a member of the Wuxi Music and Literature Society, Dr. Lee is actively involved in professional organizations, including the College Music Society (CMS), the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). During his tenure in the United States, Dr. Lee received guidance from acclaimed soprano Ollie Watts Davis and countertenor Daniel Schuetz. He further enriched his musical education through participation in master classes conducted by Isabel Leonard, a distinguished mezzo-soprano associated with the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
