Educational Objectives and Requirements

1. Educational Objectives

This major ADAPTS to the requirements of the national basic education reform and development in the new era, bases on Wuxi, faces the whole province and radiates to the whole country, and trains high-quality Chinese teaching teachers. Asked the students through four years of professional learning, have a firm political position, profound humanities accomplishment and open social view, system to master Chinese language and literature and pedagogy discipline knowledge, with strong education teaching practice, teaching research and the ability of lifelong learning, after graduation can be competent the language education of primary and secondary schools teaching related work, to get good career development.

Graduates should obtain knowledge and competences as follows:

(1) Have a firm political belief and noble moral sentiment. Patriotic and law-abiding, support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, promote traditional virtues, and consciously practice the core values of socialism.

(2) Establish firm teachers' professional beliefs. Carry out the Party's education policy, take morality as the responsibility, be loyal to the people's education, and abide by the professional ethics of teachers.

(3) Have the core quality of Chinese education and teaching. Proficient in the basic theory, basic knowledge and core skills of the Chinese Language and Literature (Teacher) major, familiar with educational theory, possess modern educational concepts, master modern educational technology, and flexibly use Chinese teaching methods.

(4) Excellent teaching ability and comprehensive education ability. Able to integrate various professional knowledge in the humanities, apply the theoretical knowledge and method skills learned to Chinese teaching practice in primary and secondary schools, have strong teaching design, implementation and evaluation capabilities, focus on training students' correct world outlook, outlook on life and values, and guide All-round development of students.
