Jiangnan University was approved to offer a professional Master's degree program in Education in 2019. The program has a team of mentors with reasonable educational backgrounds, diverse academic backgrounds, and strong research capabilities. Among the mentors, there are 15 professors and 44 associate professors with nearly 100% holding a doctoral degree. There are also 21 high-level teachers and 53 senior teachers as external mentors. The program has 12 Education Master's internship and practice bases, namely Jiangsu Tianyi High School, Jiangsu Xishan Senior High School, Jiangsu Nanjing Senior High School, Wuxi No. 1 High School, Wuxi Jiangnan Middle School, Wuxi Donglin Middle School, Jiangsu Xishan Senior High School Experimental School, Wuxi Taihu Gezhi Middle School, Jiangsu Wuxi Normal University Affiliated Primary School, Wuxi Lianyuan Street Primary School, Wuxi Donglin Primary School, and Jiangsu Wuxi Chongning Road Experimental Primary School. The program also has a national level university student humanities education base, a Jiangsu teacher training research base, and the Ministry of Education's national training base for primary and secondary school teachers. It has won one national-level quality course and three provincial-level quality courses. In recent years, the program has undertaken over 60 national, provincial, and ministerial-level projects and won over 40 provincial and ministerial-level awards. More than 50 books and teaching materials have been published, and nearly 600 papers have been published, including nearly 200 high-level papers included in SCI, CSSCI, and other indexes. The program has received recognition and praise from the academic community, society, and other stakeholders for its talent development, scientific research, social services, cultural inheritance, and innovation.
The full-time Education Master's program in the Humanities College of Jiangnan University aims to cultivate middle and primary school teachers with broad horizons, comprehensive qualities, outstanding abilities, and the ability to adapt to modern and international requirements. The main training directions include subject teaching (Chinese), subject teaching (mathematics), subject teaching (English), subject teaching (history), subject teaching (music), modern educational technology, primary education, and mental health education. The part-time Education Master's program (education management) aims to cultivate talents who have a broad vision, comprehensive qualities, outstanding abilities, and can adapt to modern and international requirements and engage in management work in basic education schools, secondary vocational and technical education schools, education administrative departments, and related education enterprises and institutions.
