The Department of Information and Computational Science has developed based on the foundation of the former Wuxi Institute of Light Industry. The teachers are full of vitality, and most of them have obtained overseas doctoral diplomas or have more than one year of overseas training background. Currently, there are 6 professors and 28 PhDs. 2 doctoral supervisors and 20 master's supervisors. The technical laboratory covers an area of over 300 square meters and has various advanced equipment worth over 10 million yuan.
The teachers of the Department of Information and Computational Science are very active in scientific research, receiving multiple National Natural Science Foundation awards each year and publishing over a hundred academic papers.
The Department of Information and Computational Science has a major in Information and Computational Science. This major was founded in 1998 and was one of the first majors in China to admit undergraduate students. Currently, around 100 students are recruited annually.The Information and Computational Science major cultivates professional talents with comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, and physical fitness, and good mathematical literacy. Students in this major mainly study the basic theories, methods, and skills of mathematics, computational science, computer science and technology, and operations research and control.
